American Diabetes Association Recognition for Self-Management Education and Support

This hospital's diabetes self-management education program has been awarded continued Recognition from the American Diabetes Association. Blue Distinction Center+ for Spine Surgery

Hospitals designated as Blue Distinction Centers+ for Spine Surgery demonstrate expertise in cervical and lumbar fusion, cervical laminectomy and lumbar laminectomy/discectomy procedures, resulting in fewer patient complications and hospital readmissions compared to other hospitals. Designated hospitals must also maintain national accreditation. In addition to meeting these quality thresholds, facilities designated as Blue Distinction Centers+ are on average 20 percent more cost-efficient in an episode of care compared to other hospitals. Quality is key: only those facilities that first meet nationally established, objective quality measures will be considered for designation as a Blue Distinction Center+.

American College of Emergency Physicians Accredited - Geriatric Emergency Department

Menorah Medical Center's Emergency Department is an American College of Emergency Physicians Accredited Geriatric Emergency Department. Geriatric EDs embrace a variety of best practices including the following. Ensuring geriatric-focused education and interdisciplinary staffing. Providing standardized approaches to care that address common geriatric issues. Ensuring optimal transitions of care from the ED to other settings (inpatient, home, community-based care, rehabilitation, long-term care) and promoting geriatric-focused quality improvement and enhancements of the physical environment and supplies Becoming a geriatric ED improves the care provided to older people in our Emergency Department and ensures the resources to provide that care are available. The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs are assessed. The findings are reported to the ACR Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report they can use for continuous practice improvement.

Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Program

The American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) certification demonstrates that this hospital's program is aligned with current guidelines as approved by the AACVPR for the appropriate and effective early outpatient care of patients with cardiac or pulmonary issues. As the gold standard for breast center accreditation, NAPBC evaluates strengths across a wide spectrum of services, including prevention, early detection, diagnosis, support staff, staging, cancer treatment, rehabilitation, the quality of the multidisciplinary team and genetic counseling. To receive accreditation, breast centers must undergo a rigorous evaluation and review of their performance and adherence to NAPBC standards.
